VIP |
Hero Melee Attack, Unarmored
The VIP is by no means a fighter, having a weak, slow attack, little health, no armor, and the slowest movement speed of any hero in the game. He has no offensive abilities. However, he does have a handy bag of tricks at his disposal for aiding his own survival.
This hero is specific to the role of VIP.
Level 1 Stats:

At Level Up:
+2.0 Strength
+0 Agility
+1.7 Intelligence
Hide Allows the VIP to disappear into the shadows. The VIP cannot move or attack while hiding. |
|
Hide Information
The VIP will Hide automatically while standing still, but ordering him to hide will keep him from automatically acquiring targets to attack, ensuring that he will stay hidden (works like Shadowmeld). When using Hide to keep yourself safe, keep in mind that the Scout's Piercing Gaze, the Sniper's Flare, the Conjurer's Vision Wards, and the Engineer's Scout Towers all have the ability to see you while you are hiding. Also, if an Assassin silences you while you are hiding, you will be revealed.
Shield
of Authority Makes the VIP temporarily invulnerable |
|
Shield of Authority Information
This is the VIP's trump ability, which buys him extra time no matter how grim the situation may seem.Use Shield of Authority to run through heavily-defended bottlenecks, especially right in front of the way gate.
Use Shield of Authority to save yourself when you are about to die.
Shield of Authority eats up a lot of mana, so try to save it for the times it will be most useful.
Doppelganger Creates an illusion of the VIP to distract his enemies. |
|
Doppelganger Information
Strategic use of Doppelgangers makes it much more difficult for the assassins to perform a surgical strike against the VIP. Cast Doppelganger when you are under direct attack to confuse your assailants. If they target the real VIP instead of the fake image, cast Doppelganger again. At high levels, when Doppelgangers have good duration, you can send them on longer missions as decoys.
Use Doppelgangers to probe enemy defenses and trigger enemy traps.
Use your Doppelganger to activate a power generator while you make a run for the waygate.
Be careful how you use your Doppelgangers. If you always put your Doppelganger in front of yourself, then the assassins will learn to always target the rearmost VIP and the Doppelganger won't help you. Vary your strategy to keep the assassins guessing.
Sanction Gives enemy units a chance to miss. |
|
Sanction Information
Sanction can be a big help both in keeping yourself alive under attack, and in aiding the bodyguards in larger battles. Use Sanction on enemy units that deal a lot of damage, like Assassins and Berserkers (if you can make it stick on them).
Leaderrship Increases movement speed of the VIP and nearby bodyguards. |
|
Leadership Information
Leadership can provide a substantial boost to the movement speed of the VIP and his bodyguards, allowing them to escape from pursuit, or charge through an enemy-held position more quickly. Leadership is an excellent skill to use when the VIP unexpectedly comes under attack because it will allow him to get out of range as quickly as possible. Also be sure to use Leadership for that last critical stretch before the way gate.Use Leadership to get out of enemy sight range, then duck around a corner and Hide to throw off pursuit.
Remember that casting Doppelganger will remove buffs like Leadership, and your doppelganger is not capable of casting Leadership himself, so combine these two abilities with caution.
